ROYCE GRACIE

Royce Gracie was born on December 12, 1966. He was born in the city of Rio de Janero, Brazil. Royce's dad was one of the creators of modern Ju-Jitzu so he had a great teacher to help him obtain all necessary skills. Royce left Brazil in search for a place in America to teach Ju-Jitzu and would begin to fight in the UFC. Gracie was apart of the first UFC fights and made his debut at UFC 1 and was undeafetd untill UFC 5 where he earned himself a draw against Hall of famer Ken Shamrock.

Gracie would have a good record throughout his career in the UFC and PRIDE leagues. His last fight would take place at UFC 60 where he fought Matt Hughes but eventually lost as Hughes seemed to be more conditioned and outlasted Gracie and won by TKO. It was later proven that Gracie had used steroids which is illegal in the UFC so he was suspended and that would virtually be the end of his career as a fighter. Although he was accompanied by drama it is still obvious that he was an amazing fighter that deserves his spot in the UFC Hall of Fame.
